Ultrasonic Testing

UT Dual Media Inspection Using an A-Scan Instrument

Description
Time of Flight measurements are used to determine the distance of a reflection from the source of the sound. UT test instruments do not account for the velocity of sound differences through different materials, such as the water path and material under test. This course shows you how to use an A-Scan Instrument to accurately perform these measurements.

Learning Outcomes:
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- analyze the distance scale on the A-Scan for the correct distance of a second media whose velocity is different from the velocity entered for the material under test.
